Overview on the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is located in the Tassoust Campus of the Mohamed Seddik Ben Yahia University in Jijel, opposite the headquarters of the university. The faculty consists of six departments: the basic education department for humanities, the basic education department for social sciences, the sociology department, the psychology and education sciences department, the media and communication department, as well as the physical and sports activities sciences and technologies department.
The formation system includes undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees.
About the Faculty:
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was established at the Mohamed Seddik Ben Yahia University by Executive Decree No. 12-362, dated 22 Dhu al-Qidah 1433 AH, corresponding to October 8, 2012. This decree amends and completes Executive Decree No. 03-258, dated 22 Jumada al-Ula 1424 AH, corresponding to July 22, 2003, which established the University of Jijel. The establishment of the faculty is based on Ministerial Decision No. 215, dated 12 Jumada al-Ula 1434 AH, corresponding to March 24, 2013.
Faculty Administration:
The dean of the faculty, is responsible for managing the faculty.
The organizational structure of the faculty includes two vice deans according to the tasks assigned to each deputy, as follows: the vice dean in charge of studies and student-related means, the vice dean in charge of postgraduate studies, scientific research, and external relations, the general secretary, in addition to the heads of the departments and their vice heads.
